Cairn - definition

Cairns have long been regarded as guiding markers for lost travellers, serving as symbols of direction and hope.

These stone piles not only provide navigational assistance but also embody the spirit of adventure and exploration.

A cairn is a  reminder you that you are never truly lost, just on an unexpected path.

Meet Your Therapist

I offer down-to-earth support that’s honest, relatable, and with the client (that’s you!) at the centre.

There's no fluff, and no complicated theories - just real conversations that help you navigate life’s challenges.

You will find me a relatable, accepting person, and someone whose practice is firmly anchored in real life experience.

I am 'real', and very down to earth (and I have a sense of humour)

I have experience of working with people with neurodiversity, and all ages from teens upwards, and I am an LGBTQIA+ ally.

I can offer the more traditional face to face therapy, but also online/video, and telephone counselling, and if you prefer email or WhatsApp/texting, we can do that too.

If you're local to Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire, I can also offer

Walk and Talk therapy, where we can combine the healing power of

nature with a therapy session. It's completely up to you!

In personal therapy, you can expect a safe, confidential and non judgemental space where you can openly explore your thoughts and feelings. It’s all about finding clarity and understanding your experiences at your own pace.

The first step can be daunting, and I completely understand this, which is why I offer a 10-15 minute initial phone call to make sure that we are a good fit, and can work together. If, after this, you wish to go ahead with therapy with me, I will e-mail the 'Client Agreement' over, which outlines what you can expect, and details fees, cancellation procedure etc.

The next step is your first session, and during this meeting, you’ll discuss your goals for therapy, any challenges you're facing at the moment, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. It's important to say that therapy is a collaborative process, and that we will work together on your journey towards healing and growth.

Fees

Online/Phone call session (50 minutes) £40

E-mail/Text/WhatsApp (60 minutes) £40

Walk and Talk (60 minutes) £45

'One Off' Session (90 minutes) £70
*please note this is faster paced, and will require you to know what you want to work on before session.

I try and keep therapy as accessible as possible in terms of cost, and further concession rates are available for students and people seriously impacted by the cost of living crisis.

Location
I am based at Ransom Wood, Southwell Road West, Mansfield, in a lovely old building surrounded by trees and nature. There is always plenty of parking and there are toilets in the building.
